John Tamny is editor of RealClearMarkets and a senior economic adviser to Toreador Research and Trading. He writes a weekly column for Forbes.
Mr. Tamny frequently writes about the securities markets, along with tax, trade and monetary policy issues that impact those markets for a variety of publications including the Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, National Review and the Washington Times. He's also a frequent guest on CNBC's Kudlow & Co. along with the Fox Business Channel.
Prior to his present work, Mr. Tamny worked at the Cato Institute, and before that in private wealth management for Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs. Mr. Tamny received a BA in Government from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA from Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management. He lives in Washington, D.C.
Victor A. Canto is Founder and Chairman of La Jolla Economics, an economic consulting firm located in La Jolla, California. Dr. Canto received a B Sc. in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1972, an M.A. and Ph. D. in economics from the University of Chicago (1974, 1977). Dr. Canto has authored, edited, or co-edited a number of books, including the landmark Foundations of Supply-Side Economics, as well as Monetary Policy, Taxation, and International Investment Strategy; Supply-Side Portfolio Strategies; and Currency Substitution: Theory and Evidence from Latin America as well as Understanding Asset Allocation.
